Shiatsu therapy is reimbursed by almost all health insurers under the heading of complementary/alternative medicine or exercise care from the health insurance with additional coverage. The mandatory deductible does not apply to Shiatsu therapy. It is advisable to first check whether the Shiatsu therapist meets certain conditions set by the health insurer. The additional package taken out with the health insurance determines the extent of reimbursement, the reimbursement percentage and any daily limit/limit per treatment (in euros) that may apply. Often, but not always, the following applies: the higher the premium, the more extensive the coverage.
